APLEC DE LA SARDANA
| The Calella meeting, which dates back to 1926, and is known as the family festival of Catalonia, is the most important of the sardana meetings. Every year sardana dancers from far and wide congregate in Calella to enjoy this unique event, with the promenade of Manuel Puigvert and the Dalmau park as natural stages. | With the celebration of the medieval fair, the centre of Calella is transformed into different medieval areas where a variety of events are held for all the family. A large craft market is combined with shows, live animation in the streets, music, food tasting and a wide range or childrens activities. OKTOBERFEST CALELLA
| The start of the beer festival begins with the traditional opening of the barrel, on a stage decorated in typical bavarian fashion, furniture brought specially from Munich, where the bands from all over europe play each night. Some of the bands have close to 60 members, all dressed in the costumes from their respective countries. The average beer consumption during the 3 weeks of the festival is 40,000 litres.
