Factory Llobet-Guri

The building was an old textile factory, one of the most important in Spain when Calella was solely an industrial town. The complex is comprised of four buildings, three of them perpendicular to Sant Jaume street and the fourth at the back (paralell to the street) which was already owned by the town council before the purchase of the central building and the part closer to Ànimes street. The building on Sant Pere street is still owned by the Llobet i Gurí family, except the back part which is the property of the  Fèlix Llobet Foundation.

The installations are frequently used by many entities including the Can Llobet music school, Radio Calella and Calella TV where they have their recording studios. There are 2 large halls (one with columns, one without) which are used for carnival celebrations, dance festivals, concerts, music recitals, theatre, fashion shows etc. Completing the facilities are council storerooms, workshops etc.

The Llobet factory sports facilities include table tennis and an artificial climbing wall.

On the ground floor of the building on Ànimes street was based the Maresme School University and also tourism diplomas were studied. Now the areas are used for seminars and school activities.

The town hall is working hard to develop the amount of activities held in the old factory, especially in the fields of culture, sport and tourism.
